what do you think makes a great dad?

When it comes to fatherhood, there is no one-size-fits-all definition of what makes a great dad. However, after talking to countless dads around the world and doing plenty of research, there are certain traits that many consider essential when it comes to raising children in a loving and nurturing atmosphere.

Trustworthiness: Having a dad who you know will never let you down can help provide stability and foster greater trust between him and his children. A dad needs to be reliable, keep promises and be able to maintain the utmost respect for his children.

Involvement/Attention: Being an involved parent is not only important for the development of your child, but also for providing them with emotional and mental support. Kids need time with their dads to talk about events in their lives and ask for advice. Dads should make time in their day, week or month to dedicate some quality time with their kids and really listen.

Patience: Patience is considered one of the most important virtues that parents need to show during the upbringing of their child. Kids make mistakes, they can be annoying, they may not always take advice well... fathers need to remember that even though they're trying to set good examples by teaching them right from wrong, they also need patience while they navigate through life's ups and downs.

Love & Support: There's no better way for a child's character to grow than through intuitive love and support shown especially by a parent. Great dads act as role models whose demonstrations of love inspire children—by showing approval or praise when deserved or by holding them up during hard times or stressful moments.
